Eurovo is a leading European company in the production of eggs and egg products. The history of Gruppo Eurovo is the story of the passion of a family with an innovative and global vision. In the mid-twentieth century, Rainieri Lionello, a Venetian entrepreneur, decided to create a new business dedicated to processing eggs. Eurovo is a leading European company in the production of eggs and egg products. Its story starts with the adventure of Rainieri Lionello, a Venetian entrepreneur who, in the mid-twentieth century, decided to create a new business dedicated to processing eggs.

With his wife Anita, Rainieri organized a small business based on manually shelling eggs, which were then stored in large tanks and frozen.

This is how the first egg products destined for bakeries and pasta factories were born.

That moment began a continuous growth that allowed the foundations for the Group to be laid: an exciting journey that transformed that small family business into the leading company in Europe.

The success of the Eurovo Group is due to the attention to quality. It is thanks to the transparency of the production process, combined with the strict controls of specialized technicians, that Eurovo guarantees excellent products.

EasYard facilitated the management of the yard, allowed real-time mapping of entries and exits and activity in the plant so that any inefficiencies by the carrier or of the process could be identified in real time.

The search for a yard management system for the Eurovo Group was aimed at optimizing yard flows with warehouse activities, better arrival planning to reduce driver waiting times, and improve the scheduling of freight pickups and plant arrivals.

GOALS

The main goals were:

  • increased performance;
  • reduction of drivers' stopover times;
  • Real-time communication between all stakeholders in the arrival of a vehicle;
  • vehicle tracking;
  • control of all incoming vehicles, people and goods - weighing - stopping and leaving plants;
  • independence from human resources.


ISSUES

The main problems in managing entrances were:

  • high number of vehicles parked in the yards (long waiting times for loading/unloading)
  • difficulty in communicating the arrival of a vehicle between gatehouse - drivers - plant
    • non-Italian drivers;
    • traceability of trips made by vehicles prior to arrival at Eurovo to track any "contamination" in case of product failure.


    The choice of an automated management system landed on EasYard because Replica Sistemi is part of the Zucchetti Group. Among the features that convinced us: the software's ease of use and its ability to adapt to the Group's needs.

    We opted for the choice of EasYard YMS integrated with:

    • Automatic License Plate Recognition Camera 
    • Registration Interactive terminal
    • Weighing Interactive terminal 

    Thanks to the collaboration of Replica Sistemi and Eurovo engineers, all the processes that characterize the Occhiobello plant during vehicle entry, parking, coring, weighing and exit have been mapped.

    Booking
    With EasYard, Eurovo assigns the "LOADING VOUCHER" by sending an email to the supplier with the date and time of delivery and QR CODE to present at the interactive terminal at the entrance.

    Arrival

    Arrival of the vehicle in the parking lot outside Eurovo.

    The driver gets out of the vehicle and approaches the outdoor Registration terminal to fill in all data

    Scan with QR Code (if previously booked from the portal).

    Print INPUT TICKET - Eurovo staff sees the driver's arrival on the monitor. The driver picks up the "entry receipt" ticket with a QR Code that will be used for the weigh totem and returns to his vehicle to wait for the core call.

    The driver receives an SMS confirming successful registration.


    Coring

    The analysis laboratory sends via EasYard a text message to the driver to deliver the feed sample for analysis.

    The Driver approaches the coring pickup with the vehicle and waits on the truck.

    If quality control identifies the product as "SUITABLE," the warehouse displays on the screen that the product is "SUITABLE" and orders the "bay call": the Driver receives the SMS confirmation that the product is "SUITABLE" and receives indications of the gate number at which the vehicle is to dock.

    The license plate of the vehicle becomes "ENABLED" at the entrance, and then the driver moves to the entrance barrier at the plant..

    Entrance

    The driver moves toward the barrier. The camera frames the license plate and the bar opens automatically.

    The truck proceeds straight ahead and positions itself on the weighbridge. Staying on the truck, the driver approaches the Weighbridge Totem, scans the QR CODE of the entry ticket, which then recognizes the truck, and receives the weighbridge ticket.

    The vehicle moves to the gate indicated by the SMS and is loaded/unloaded.

    When finished, the warehouse operator declares "END OF ATTRACTION" and the administration prepares the documents for the vehicle's exit.

    Exit
    The driver moves to the weighbridge for final weighing.
    The driver inserts the QR Code into the terminal and picks up the weighbridge ticket of the exiting vehicle.
    The gate attendant hands over all accompanying documents and the vehicle license plate is cleared for exit.
    The vehicle exits the plants with raising of the bar.
    A recording of the vehicle's exit appears on the screen (visible to all).

    The EasYard project allowed us to achieve:

    • planning of reception activities related to loading/unloading  of the vehicles by synchronizing them with the warehouse.
    • paperless vehicle tracking, eliminating all paper print.

    • reduction of vehicle dwell times
    • real time visualization of the "status" of the vehicle by all the actors involved, eliminating the time wasted for calling between offices.
