Giacomo Sperone I.VI.S. Spa

Giacomo Sperone was founded by Antonio, Sperone Sr., who, in 1911, began the artisanal production of vermouth and wines in a small winery on the outskirts of Turin. After the end of the Second World War, the company began to gradually expand throughout Italy and abroad thanks to the enterprise of his son Giacomo, a professional wine-maker who replaced his father and, in 1960, built a new, very modern plant in Cusano Milanino, just outside of Milan, with the modern, state-of-the-art equipment, which has allowed the company to grow, adding a wide range of sparkling wines, the first of which was Asti Spumante, to its already broad assortment. In 1984, another winery was constructed at Casalotto di Mombaruzzo in the Province of Asti to produce and bottle a prestigious line of classic Piedmontese wines under the Neirano brand. The winery is located in the charming Monferrato hills and surrounded by 25 hectares of its own select vineyards. Today, the Sperone Group is a splendid Italian wine company and one of the most important Italian producers of vermouth and sparkling wines.
