Greppo's prestige began in the early 1800s with the great oenological culture of the family that owns this estate, whose territory has an extraordinary viticultural vocation for Sangiovese.

Clemente began vinifying Sangiovese in purity and passed on his enoviticultural science to his nephew Ferruccio Biondi Santi who, following the arrival of phylloxera in the mid-1900s, selected a clone of Sangiovese with which he succeeded in producing wines of extraordinary longevity.

It was Ferruccio himself who produced the first bottle of Brunello di Montalcino in 1888.
