NEEDS
In the second half of 2010, the management of Bisi Logistica decided to improve some aspects of the logistics process in order to make the organization and management of all logistics flows managed in the Milan warehouse more efficient: goods entry, storage, internal handling, picking and inventory, including for dangerous goods, to improve the service offered to its customers.
In particular, the system had the following issues:
- manual warehouse management without bar code management;
- difficulties in lot traceability;
- complex warehouses by product type;
- inventories and stocks not always parameterizable.
The aims of the renovation project are:
- real-time movements and 'everywhere' information;
- fast and efficient service to ensure;
- traceability of materials even to batch level;
- decrease in errors;
- rationalization in warehouse space management through dynamic mapping;
- inventory security;
- simplifications in rotating inventory management;
- guidance of operators in their daily activities.
SOLUTIONS
After careful evaluation, Bisi Logistica decided to implement Replica Sistemi's StockSystem solution in both the standard version, with RF terminals, and the vocele version, to optimize picking and inventory operations.
The execution of warehouse operations is therefore entrusted to:
- to Voice-Picking Voice Recognition Software (SMA.I.L:) Voice) by which operators receive instructions, confirm the correctness of their work, report errors by speaking and listening to SMA.I.L:) StockSystem via a headset, microphone and a lightweight, compact terminal strapped to the belt;
- to the RF system that enables real-time transmission of data to the warehouse management system. Logistics operators work efficiently using RF (Radio Frequency) terminals interfaced with remote Access Point repeaters.
