Born in 1972 in Modena, today Coop. Cartai Modenese is one of the most significant realities in Italy In the production, marketing and distribution of food packaging, cleaning and packing items.

Coop. Cartai Modenese has become one of the leading companies, nationwide, for its range of more than 5,000 quality products, for professionalism, punctuality and speed of delivery, and for its constant attention to the technological evolution of the sector and product innovation.

Approximately 58 employees produced revenues of more than 23 million euros in 2007, serving more than 6,700 customers (of the more than 30,000 registered) belonging to different sectors (Large Retailers, Organized Distribution, Independents, Public Entities, etc.), with a range of about 5,000 products in annual rotation (compared to more than 11,000 registered). Also in the same year, the cooperative's 12 warehouse operators made over 66,000 shipments with 317,000 order lines picked, handling about 450,000 packages.

The success of the Voice system is to be acknowledged, as is the effort of Coop. Cartai's staff and the strong specialization of Replica Sistemi's consultants in both IT and logistics processes. NEEDS

The main issues were:

  • manual processes from the order entry stages to order fulfillment;
  • need for the use of voice terminals in package handling;
  • difficulty in having external resources available for short periods due to excessive training time;
  • dilated company downtime due to manual procedures in inventory.

SOLUTIONS

Coop. Cartai Modenese, a company that has always been attentive to technological evolution and innovation, has relied on Replica Sistemi to optimize the movement of its warehouse flows.

In 2005, Coop Cartai Modenese chose to take advantage of the voice system of voice synthesis and voice recognition technology natively integrated into StockSystem, its warehouse logistics management software.

Warehouse operators, equipped with a Vocollect Talkman terminal with a headset and microphone, work quickly and safely with hands and eyes free, using a lightweight, belt-wearable device.

In 2011, migration to the new version of StockSystem started: StockSystemEvolution. The same year saw a switch to new management, ERP Microsoft Dynamics NAV with certified interface by StockSystem.

  • StockSystem, in integration with electronic document management systems, has greatly limited billing office costs
  • Extreme ease of consultation and distribution of Bills of Lading thanks to the availability of complete information in a very short time
  • StockSystem ensures compliance with the law on Traceability of batches of products suitable for food contact, allowing certain information to be affixed to the TDs and on "standard SSCC logistics labels"

  • Productivity in pickup, estimated increase of around 35%
  • Productivity in loading "groupage" trucks, increased by almost 30%
  • Productivity in incoming material control, increased by more than 20%
